About NOHrD equipment

NOHrD is a German maker of handcrafted wooden gym equipment, combining serious training performance with a finish designed to live comfortably in a home.

The brand grew from the wider WaterRower story, which began in 1988 with the original wooden rowing machine. Today, WATERROWER | NOHrD home gym products cover cardio, strength, mobility and wellness equipment, with NOHrD products handcrafted at its manufacturing facility in Nordhorn, Germany.

That heritage is easy to spot. Rather than hiding timber behind plastic housings, NOHrD makes materials part of the design. Solid woods, carefully finished upholstery and clean silhouettes give the equipment a furniture-like quality without turning it into furniture masquerading as fitness gear.

Nevertheless, performance still comes first. The SlimBeam and WeightBench are designed for demanding training and professional environments, while their footprint and appearance make them particularly compelling at home.

For anyone looking for NOHrD in Australia, we offer a range that can start with one beautifully made training station and grow into a coordinated home gym.

Signature: The NOHrD SlimBeam

If there’s one piece that captures the NOHrD philosophy, it is the SlimBeam. This wall-mounted cable machine gives you full-body resistance training from a unit just 44 cm deep. Its height-adjustable dual pulley supports unilateral and bilateral exercises, while the 75 kg weight stack and interchangeable cable ratios let you tailor how that resistance feels.

NOHrD WallBars

The NOHrD WallBars rethink the classic Swedish ladder in solid timber, adding an integrated foldout bar for pull-ups, hanging exercises and suspension work. With a depth of only 13 cm when folded away, they bring mobility, stretching, calisthenics and bodyweight strength training into a remarkably slim footprint. The 14-rung model provides closer spacing for more grip and accessory positions.

Use them alone or combine them with other NOHrD equipment to create a broader training setup.

NOHrD WeightBench

Some benches are built to disappear into a commercial gym. The NOHrD WeightBench is built to perform without looking out of place in your home. Its solid timber frame is paired with an adjustable backrest offering eight positions and a two-position seat. With a maximum load of 400 kg, it has the capacity for serious dumbbell and bench training rather than simply looking the part.

NOHrD Multi-Adaptor

Already own WallBars? The Multi-Adaptor is one of the simplest ways to get more from them. It attaches to the WallBars to create additional options for triceps dips, hanging knee raises, chin-ups, stretching and other upper-body movements. In other words, a relatively compact addition can turn an already versatile wall station into a more complete bodyweight setup.

NOHrD TriaTrainer 3-In-1 Bench

The TriaTrainer earns its floor space three times over. Closed, it works as an abdominal and core trainer. Open it to the first position for targeted back and glute work. Extend it fully and you have a bench for standard exercises with or without free weights.

Why choose NOHrD equipment?

NOHrD competes on design, sustainability and longevity, creating equipment you can display and keep rather than hide away and replace.

There’s substance behind the wooden gym equipment aesthetic. The timber comes exclusively from sustainably managed forests and renewable tree stocks in Germany and the American Appalachians. The company also operates its own sawmill, uses waste wood for heating and generates a substantial share of its electricity through solar panels.

Longevity is part of the same thinking. NOHrD specifically designs products to be upgraded or modified where possible rather than automatically replaced, while professional-use products are made for spaces where durability and daily performance matter.

For us, that’s where the range makes sense. You’re not building a NOHrD home gym simply because timber looks better than another black steel frame. You’re choosing equipment that performs properly, uses space thoughtfully and can remain part of your training environment for years.

FAQs

What is NOHrD?

NOHrD is a German fitness equipment brand known for handcrafted wooden training equipment designed for both home and commercial spaces. The range combines performance with considered design, using sustainably sourced timber and premium materials across strength, cardio and mobility products. We like NOHrD because the equipment trains seriously without making your home look like a commercial gym floor.

Is NOHrD equipment good quality?

Yes! NOHrD equipment is built using premium materials, and many products are tested for commercial gym use, so durability is a genuine part of the proposition. You’re paying more than you would for basic equipment, though. For maximal-load lifting, some products may have limits, but for quality, finish and everyday training, the range is exceptionally well considered.

Is NOHrD worth the price?

For buyers who value design, durability and equipment they will actually keep using, we think so. NOHrD sits above entry-level gym equipment on price, but that comparison misses part of the point. You’re investing in equipment built for long-term use that can remain comfortably on display, rather than something you may eventually hide or stop using altogether.

How do I buy NOHrD in Australia?

You can shop NOHrD equipment directly through us at Exagym, with local support and a Sydney showroom where you can see selected products in person. Availability and delivery times can vary between made-to-order items, so we recommend checking the current lead time with our team before purchasing, particularly if you’re working towards a specific installation date.
