Description

TheraBand has built its reputation based on its original latex resistance bands. With a 25% difference between each colour and 40% in their heavier levels, it allows you to progress gradually during injury rehabilitation.

It is great for developing muscles in isolation movements that are lagging in stability and performance. Ideal for any shoulder stability or strengthening exercises. Price shown is for a 1 metre length – if you choose a quantity more than 1, we will cut it as 1 full length (i.e. choose a quantity of 3, we will cut 1 length of 3 metres). Product Description

Latex resistance bands

TheraBand Latex Resistance Bands are designed to help users rehabilitate injuries, improve functional living and enhance athletic performance. The elastic exercise bands provide both positive and negative force on muscles and joints to help stretch, tone and condition all major muscle groups. These training bands are best used before working out to enhance stretches and prime the muscles for strenuous exercises.

Progressive resistance system

The TheraBand colour-coded resistance system allows users to easily track their progress from one level to the next. The exercise resistance bands come in levels that range from Super Light (2.4 lbs) to Elite (14.2 lbs). This pull-force tested system ensures users can increase the difficulty of their workouts over time to tone muscles and recover from injuries.

Rehab & condition muscles

When rehabilitating injuries, choosing what you recover with is just as important as how you recover. The right exercise equipment is vital for recovering from any injury, large or small, and increasing strength, range of motion and flexibility. Easily store TheraBand exercise bands for on-the-go personal and professional use.

The Original Trusted Progression™ System

Elastic resistance force and torque

Elastic resistance is a unique type of resistance training compared to other traditional forms, such as isotonic or isokinetic resistance. The resistance provided by elastic bands or resistance tubing is based on the amount that the band or tubing is stretched. This resistance can be measured in pounds/kilograms of force, depending on the percentage the band or tubing is stretched from its resting length; this is known as force-elongation.

Why Choose the TheraBand Green Resistance Band per Metre

The TheraBand Green resistance band sits in the heavy resistance category, making it a reliable choice for users who have progressed beyond early-stage rehabilitation and are ready to challenge strength, control and endurance.

Because the band is sold per metre, it offers flexibility that pre-cut loops cannot. Clinicians, trainers and home users can customise length based on exercise selection, limb length or anchor points, ensuring consistent tension across movements. Longer lengths are particularly useful for compound or standing exercises, while shorter cuts suit isolation work and joint control drills.

Ideal Applications for the Green Resistance Level

The green band is especially effective for upper and lower body strengthening where moderate-to-high resistance is required without compromising movement quality. It is frequently used for:

  • Shoulder external rotation and scapular control drills
  • Hip abduction, extension and glute activation
  • Hamstring and quadriceps strengthening
  • Core stability and anti-rotation exercises
  • Postural correction and functional movement retraining

Unlike free weights, elastic resistance allows tension to increase gradually through the range, supporting joint-friendly loading while still providing meaningful strength stimulus.

Band Length Guidance and Setup Tips

Choosing the right length plays a key role in how the resistance feels during use.

While individual needs vary, the following general guidance can help:

  • 1–1.5 metres — Ideal for single-arm or single-leg exercises, shoulder rehab and clinical use
  • 2–3 metres — Suitable for full-body movements, standing exercises and home training
  • Longer lengths — Useful for taller users or exercises requiring anchoring around large structures

Care, Safety and Longevity

To ensure safe and effective use:

  • Inspect the band regularly for nicks or thinning
  • Avoid overstretching beyond recommended ranges
  • Store away from direct sunlight and heat
  • Clean with mild soap and water, then air dry

Proper care helps preserve elasticity and ensures consistent resistance over time, particularly in high-use clinical or studio environments.

Build a Versatile Rehab and Mobility Setup

Resistance bands are most effective when integrated into a broader training or rehabilitation toolkit. Many professionals combine band work with complementary equipment such as resistance tubing for handle-based exercises or tactile tools like a rehab spikey ball to support soft tissue release between sets. Compact stability aids, such as a Pocket Physio Triangle, are also useful for alignment feedback and positional support during floor-based exercises.

FAQs

What are resistance bands used for?

Resistance bands are used for strength training, rehabilitation, mobility work and injury prevention. They provide variable resistance that increases through the range of motion, supporting controlled and joint-friendly exercise.

Are resistance bands suitable for rehabilitation and physiotherapy?

Yes. Resistance bands are widely used in physiotherapy and rehabilitation settings due to their adaptability, low joint impact and ability to support gradual progression.

What is the difference between resistance bands and resistance tubing?

Resistance bands are flat and versatile for wrapping, anchoring and bodyweight integration. Resistance tubing is typically round and often used with handles for grip-based or machine-style exercises.

Can resistance bands be used for home workouts and studio training?

Yes. Resistance bands are suitable for home users, studios, gyms and clinical environments. Their portability makes them ideal for consistent training across locations.

Can resistance bands be used with other rehab or mobility tools?

Yes. Resistance bands are often combined with tools such as rehab spikey balls, stability wedges or balance aids to create more comprehensive rehab and conditioning programs.
